Hans Christian Andersen is a 1952 Hollywood musical film directed by Charles Vidor, with words and music by Frank Loesser. The story was by Myles Connolly, its screenplay was by Moss Hart and Ben Hecht (uncredited), and was produced by The Samuel Goldwyn Company. It is a fictional, romantic story revolving around the life of the famous Danish poet and story-teller Hans Christian Andersen. The title role was played by Danny Kaye.

The film was an international success at the time. It is not a "biographical" movie, and in the introduction describes itself as "a fairytale about the storyteller". A large part of the story is told through song and ballet and includes many of Andersen's most famous stories such as The Ugly Duckling, Thumbelina, The Emperor's New Clothes and The Little Mermaid.

Highway Patrol is a syndicated action crime drama series that aired from 1955-1959. The series was syndicated by Ziv TV.
------------------------------------------------------------
Overview
It starred Broderick Crawford as Chief Dan Matthews, the gruff and dedicated commander of a police force in a large, unidentified Western state. A signature shot of the series was fedora-wearing Matthews barking "10-4!" and other rapid-fire dialogue into a radio-microphone as he leaned against the door of his patrol car (call sign ID# "2150"). There were no other regular cast members but William Boyett, later behind the badge again as Sgt. MacDonald in Adam-12, made numerous appearances as Sgt. Ken Williams and Officer Johnson.

In the early seasons the series was provided with technical assistance by the California Highway Patrol. The Dodges and Buicks used as police vehicles were designed to resemble the then-current CHP fleet in both paint scheme and door insignias.

It was also famous for its location shooting - in rural and desert areas of southern California - in the still very studio-bound early years of television (it was produced from 1955-1959), and like most Ziv series, had its repeats syndicated for many years afterward. The rights to all 156 episodes are currently held by MGM Television.

Bug is a 1975 horror film starring Bradford Dillman, Joanna Miles and Richard Gilliland. It was directed by Jeannot Szwarc and written by William Castle and Thomas Page. It was based on Page's 1973 novel The Hephaestus Plague (ISBN 0-399-11184-0), and concerns a highly intelligent species of insect which can make fire by rubbing its cerci together. It is also significant in that it is the last film Castle was involved in before his death.

Plot
An earthquake releases a large number of cockroaches from deep in the ground that have the ability to set fire. Eventually most of the bugs die because they cannot survive in the low air pressure on the Earth's surface, but a scientist keeps one alive in a pressure chamber. He successfully breeds the cockroach with a modern bug creating a breed of intelligent, flying super-bugs.

Zotz! is a 1947 novel by Walter Karig and a 1962 movie, produced and directed by William Castle, about a man obtaining magical powers from a god of an ancient civilization.

The title was probably inspired by the month Zotz or Sotz of the Haab' Pre-Columbian Maya calendar.

Amongst science fiction fandom, the word refers to a useless, unwanted gift

A Francophile (or Gallophile) is a person who has a strong interest in French culture. This could include France itself and its history, the French language, French cuisine, literature, etc. The opposite of a Francophile is a Francophobe (or Gallophobe) -- someone who dislikes all that is French.

Francophilia often arises in former French colonies where the élite spoke French and adopted many French habits—although places where resentment against French customs is often fresh in the mind of the population (such as Algeria and Vietnam) might instead want to dispense with French culture. In some countries such as Romania, French culture has also long been popular among the educated classes. Even in the United States, the French language is still one of the main foreign languages taught in school. French Canadians who have adapted French culture could also be considered Francophiles.

Historically, Francophilia has been associated with supporters of the philosophy of French Enlightenment during and after the French Revolution, where democratic uprisings challenged the autocratic countries of Europe
